Installation Instructions

PFC Corofil C144 Firestops are used to prevent fire penetration at the junction of compartment walls and floors/roofs for a specified period up to 6 hours. They are generally supplied to fit under slight compression.

  1. Remove all loose debris and mortar from the gap.
  2. Ensure correct width is installed to suit the required Fire Rating.
  3. Keep material dry and protect from impact damage.
  4. Firestop Strip
    1. Gaps up to 25mm. It is easier to install prior to completion of the last course of brick/blockwork wall.
    2. Larger gaps. Compress and insert the strip ensuring tight butt joints.
  5. Firestop Blocks
    1. When using firestop blocks across profile compress and insert into position. An adhesive may be required either for location purposes or to ensure a secure installation e.g. vertical cladding.
    2. When filling continuously along one corrugation, spray sheet with contact adhesive and press firestop block into position. This must be done before wall is completed.
    3. For steel beam protection compress Firestop Blocks to finish flush with cladding both sides.
