Installation Instructions
PFC Corofil Intumescent Pipe Bands are used to prevent fire penetration in plastic pipes which pass through walls or floors for specified period up to 4 hours. They are manufactured as a sealed unit to the correct length and width to suit the pipe diameter and fire rating.
- Check that pipe surface is clear of mortar.
- Ensure that the correct pipe band is installed to suit diameter and fire rating.
- Wrap around pipe and fix with integral self-adhesive strip.
- Slide into position ensuring that the bottom edge is exposed in a floor slab and both edges are exposed in the wall. Two bands may be necessary when the wall thickness exceeds 150mm.
- Seal the pipe band into the structure with PFC Corofil Firestop Compound.
